The island of Ischia lies in the Tyrrhenian Sea, on the north end of the gulf of Naples, not far from the islands of Procida and Vivara. It is one of the Phlegrean islands and has a population of 56,105 inhabitants. The island can be easily reached, departing from the harbours of Napoli Beverello, Mergellina and Pozzuoli towards those of Ischia, Casamicciola Terme and Forio.
